AO3 for Vidders

ao3vidders is pleased to announce that we have 18 vidders who have offered up vids for our auction! A huge THANK YOU to all who braved the unknown (we're brand new at this, after all) and put yourself out there. I am amazed and excited for the enthusiasm so many have for the OTW's project.

First of all, just a quick reminder that VIDDER SIGN-UPS are open until next Saturday, May 15th.

In related news, OTW recently announced their Vidding Roadmap, outlining their plan for the features and services they hope to provide. Highlights include:
1. Vidding Community Resource Site
2. A Dark Archive (to store and protect vids)
3. A Torrent of Our Own (TO3)
4. AO3 Embed Code
5. Integration of the TO3 into the AO3
"One of the key resources we need to make this project (and others) move forward quickly is people power." More details about volunteering for various OTW projects can be found here.

Welcome to ao3vidders!!

We hope to bring you a fun and exciting vidding experience and to help raise awareness for a project that we would LOVE to see come to fruition - a fan-owned, fan supported archive for vidders. Yes, you heard me right. And I'm not talking just another hosted site. These folks are building the infrastructure and buying the servers. *G*

Who are they? They are the Organization For Transformative Works (OTW) and they are heading up a project called Archive Of Our Own (AO3). But, like any non-profit endeavor, they could use our support.

And that's where this thing comes in. This community has been created to coordinate a vidder's auction in support of OTW's AO3 project.

ao3vidders is not formally affiliated with OTW or AO3 in any manner. We are merely participants, members, supporters and fans hoping to spread awareness and generate support for an upcoming AO3 vidding project and the OTW in general.

Sign ups for the VIDDING AUCTION to benefit OTW will commence on May 1st!

AO3's FIRST VIDDER AUCTION - SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
MAY 01 thru MAY 15 - Vidder sign ups.
MAY 16 - Mods will open the auction by making a post per vidder. After all posts are up, a MASTER LIST & QUESTIONS post will be made outlining all the specifics including how to bid, how to ask for more information, the donation process, etc.
MAY 16 thru MAY 30 - Bidding
MAY 31 thru JUN 10 - Donations and connections between vidder and bidder
JUN 01 thru JUN 30 - A possible reverse-bid round (details to follow)
JUL 18 thru AUG 15 - Vidder's post their vids - last date to default is July 31st

FYI ~ Bidders donate directly to OTW here. We will ask donators for a screenshot of their PayPal confirmation (feel free to black out any personal identification info) as confirmation. It can be posted in a screened comment in the donation confirmation post or request to email a mod.
